This site is meant to be a historical reference for all things statistical for the 2016 CAN Softball Tournament. The 2016 CAN Tournament championship was won by the Villanova Wildcats. After an early round win over Massachusetts, Villanova then had to run a string of wins over JMU, Florida, Pittsburgh and then Maryland, including an exciting comeback in the bottom of the 7th in the Championship game! Talk about running the gauntlet! That is an impressive list of wins! The tournament once again was a success and the weather held up for another two wonderful weekends of softball, food, drinks, comradery, more drinks, and great fun.

There were exactly 1000 participants in this year’s event and you will be able to find the statistics for each of them, along with box scores and play-by-play for each game, team pages with batting and fielding stats for each player, plus other statistical information.

Thank you to the tournament committee and all of those who helped make it all happen. Thanks to those who volunteered to scorekeep. There are still a lot of problems with the scoring process and translating it to play-by-plays. I guarantee this account is not 100% accurate, but it is compiled as best as possible given the scoresheets I had to work with. If you notice any errors in what is posted here, please feel free to let me know and I will work to correct it.
